Introducing our corporate partners: Alliotts

Alliotts LLP is an independent firm of Chartered Accountants and business advisors based in London and Guildford, but with an international portfolio of clients. They have been huge advocates and supporters of Prevent Breast Cancer for several years.

We recently caught up with Ben Scott from Alliotts, to find out more about the company itself and why they originally come on board as a Prevent Breast Cancer Corporate Partner.

Could you first tell us about Alliotts from a business perspective?

Since 1869, Alliotts LLP has been committed to its finesse-led approach to accountancy and business advice. The ability to deliver highly technical work in a uniquely accessible manner, coupled with the mindfulness to think of the bigger picture and not just the problem in front of us, has made the firm one of the most highly regarded accountancy providers in London. Alliotts LLP also has a strong commitment to its charitable and sustainability objectives, aiming to give back to the community wherever it can and is proud of its strong relationship with Prevent Breast Cancer over the past decade.

Why did you choose to partner with Prevent Breast Cancer?

Several years ago, Alliotts unfortunately lost a beloved friend and work colleague to breast cancer. The loss was deeply felt amongst the firm, and they continue to be greatly missed by all of us. Following this, Alliotts chose to partner with Prevent Breast Cancer (PBC) in honour of their colleague and to help prevent breast cancer for future generations as well as supporting those suffering with the disease. Our work with PBC has continued to go from strength to strength over the past few years with successful events such as Ride London and the 3 Peaks Challenge and we are extremely proud to partner with PBC and support all the incredible work they are doing in creating a breast cancer free future.

Why did Prevent Breast Cancer stand out to you, over other charities?

Prevent Breast Cancer’s commitment to predictive research in protecting future generations from breast cancer is something that identifies with Alliotts’ aim of mindfulness to think of the bigger picture and is what we believe makes Prevent Breast Cancer stand out over other charities. We were lucky enough to have two of the Prevent team present to us in our offices on their aim to build a National Breast Imaging Academy (NBIA) to assist with their predictive research. They were approachable and supportive when discussing such a difficult topic which was incredibly inspiring, and we hope to be able to continue in our support of their ground-breaking work.

How do you aim to support the charity in its goal to prevent breast cancer for future generations?

Alliotts intends to continue to support the charity through its annual fundraising events to raise as much money as possible towards PBC’s work across the UK. Our aim is to assist with funding for the state-of-the-art NBIA building in Manchester to relieve the backlog of screenings following the Covid-19 pandemic as well as assisting with the training of the next generation of experts in the predictive work that PBC are undertaking. We are excited to see this facility develop into the leading breast cancer facility in the world and are committed to our contributions towards preventing breast cancer for future generations.

What does a breast cancer free future mean to you?

A breast cancer free, or more generally a cancer free future means a lot to so many people. The fear of cancer is one that stretches world-wide and impacts millions of people every year. At Alliotts we felt it was important to get a wide view of what a breast cancer free future meant to members of our community. The responses below paint a picture of hope and optimism regarding the work conducted by PBC and other cancer charities for a cancer free future in which predictive and preventive research works hand in hand with treatments to prevent this dreadful disease.
