Paint Altrincham Pink returned this year and was bigger than ever! The market town in Cheshire managed to raise a staggering £15,000 towards breast cancer prevention research between February 24th – March 3rd 2019.
Over 60 businesses raised vital funds and awareness by holding events, putting on special ‘pink’ offers or by decorating their shop fronts with beautiful pink bunting.
We had some exciting events during the week, with Storm Ice Hockey kicking everything off with a ‘Pink the Rink’ match against the Sheffield Steelers on the Sunday, following our annual pub crawl with the players on Friday Night. These events raised a spectacular £3000 for the charity. Holt Business Solutions and the rest of the occupants of Century Business Park clubbed together to Paint Century Business Park Pink, with cakes and networking (and of course tutus!) raising almost £1500. On 28th February Juice Nursery held a sell-out fashion show at Gran T’s Coffee House with help from the Style Junkie Boutique raising over £1000.
Once again local schools were keen to take part. Altrincham Grammar School for Boys and Altrincham Grammar School for Girls both undertook some excellent fundraising activities including static bike rides, raffles and a fashion show, raising over £2800.
We saw some fantastic pink offers and deals across the town including Tre Ciccio, who re-named their famous Sud Pizza ‘The Pink’ for the week and donated proceeds. They joined Porta Tapas, Sardus Cucina, Common Ground, Blanchflower, Jake Shoes and Madam Butterfly in showing off pink products to prevent breast cancer.
Thanks again Altrincham for putting your all into this fantastic week of activities! Next year we’re hoping it will be even bigger, so make sure to save the date – 8th – 15th March.
We’d also like to give a special mention to Altrincham Chamber of Commerce, Altrincham Town Centre Partnership and Altrincham Unlimited for their keen support of Paint Altrincham Pink. Thanks for helping us spread the word!
