The Prudential RideLondon-Surrey is fast approaching, and we can’t wait for Team Prevent Breast Cancer to take part in the challenge together. However, if you didn’t manage to secure a place this time around, but still want to get stuck in and raise vital funds for the charity, there are plenty of other challenges on the horizon that you can take part in…
TrekFest Peak District – 31 August
Trek through the stunning countryside of the Peak District as part of TrekFest, one of the UK’s biggest charity walks! You can sign up as either an individual or as part of a team, and there are two routes – one 25km and one 50km – to suit every ability, making it a great challenge for novices and seasoned trekkers alike. As a participant, you will have access to its event village, which has camping, toilets and showers, as well as free hot meals, and drinks and snacks en route to keep up your energy levels.
Great North Run – 8 September
If you’re looking for a running challenge, it doesn’t get much better than the iconic Great North Run! It takes place in Newcastle, with the 13.1 mile route starting in the heart of the city, before runners go across the iconic Tyne Bridge and finish in the coastal town of South Shields. In total, there’ll be 57,000 runners taking place, so it promises to be an exhilarating event!
Morecambe Bay Walk – 8 September
One of our most popular events returns this September: the Morecambe Bay Walk! The eight-mile walk from Arnside to Kent’s Bank offers beautiful views across the bay and is a friendly – and comparatively more relaxed – walking challenge. Be sure to book your place early, as it always sells out!
The Great Wall of China – 21 September
Looking for the challenge of a lifetime? Look no further – trek one of the wonders of the world in aid of Prevent Breast Cancer! This challenge takes you to a remote section of the Great Wall, from Gubeikou to Simatai. The trek will take you along the wall itself but will also give you a taste of the ‘real’ China, as you stay in guesthouses and find out more about the local lifestyle.
Feeling brave? Our charity sky dive scheme gives you the chance to do a parachute jump if you raise £500 or more in sponsorship. You just need to pick a date and drop zone that’s convenient for you, and your training and sky dive are completed in the space of one day! If you really fancy going outside of your comfort zone, this one’s for you.
We regularly introduce new and exciting charity challenges, so keep an eye on our events page to find your ideal one!
