Simplyhealth is a leading healthcare company, committed to helping everybody access affordable everyday healthcare services.

Alongside five other women’s health charities, Simplyhealth is partnering with Prevent Breast Cancer to amplify the conversation around women’s health in the UK.

We recently caught up with Charlotte Cook from the company to discover more about Simplyhealth, and to understand why they became a Prevent Breast Cancer Corporate Partner.

Can you tell us more about Simplyhealth from a business perspective?

We stand for a healthier world by improving the UK’s access to healthcare, and helping our communities, customers, and colleagues to thrive. Our new generation of low-cost health plans and dental plans, including the market-leading Denplan, look after over two million customers by helping them find, treat, and fund their healthcare. Working with thousands of businesses and partners, we connect people to the best-in-class healthcare providers so they can stay healthy and live their best lives at home and work.

We don’t have shareholders and since 1872 we’ve been led by our purpose of improving access to healthcare, for all in the UK. Each year we commit to giving a minimum of £1million to a range of health-related charities and community causes. In 2022 we became the first Health Insurer to be awarded B Corp status, in recognition of our high environmental and social ambitions and continued positive impacts in using our business as a force for good.

Why has Simplyhealth chosen to partner with Prevent Breast Cancer?

Prevention sits at the heart of Simplyhealth’s approach to health. Being able to support Prevent Breast Cancer to extend its impact by identifying who is at risk, offering preventative interventions and supporting future generations from breast cancer aligns with our purpose and ambition, especially related to women’s health.

Why did Prevent Breast Cancer stand out to you, over other charities?

Alongside five other women’s health charities, we’re partnering with Prevent Breast Cancer to amplify the conversation around women’s health in the UK. This involves raising awareness, building understanding and sharing resources through effective signposting. This is particularly important in the workplace, where we’re helping employers to address the current workplace sickness epidemic in the UK.

How do you aim to support the charity in its goal to prevent breast cancer for future generations?

By collaborating and working alongside five other women’s health charities, as part of Simplyhealth’s Women’s Health Charity Alliance, we’re aiming to amplify Prevent Breast Cancer’s brilliant work with our own stakeholders, as well as the wider community networks available.

What does a breast cancer free future mean to you?

A future free from worry or fear.

Many of our colleagues, customers and corporate clients share personal stories with us about breast cancer diagnosis and treatment. We’re committed to helping everyone we have relationships with to prevent breast cancer, now and in the future.

About Prevent Breast Cancer

Prevent Breast Cancer is the only UK charity entirely dedicated to the prediction and prevention of breast cancer – we’re committed to freeing the world from the disease altogether. Unlike many cancer charities, we’re focused on preventing, rather than curing. Promoting early diagnosis, screening and lifestyle changes, we believe we can stop the problem before it starts. And being situated at the only breast cancer prevention centre in the UK, we’re right at the front-line in the fight against the disease. Join us today and help us create a future free from breast cancer. If you have any questions or concerns, email us today.
