The 8th-15th March 2020 saw our third Paint Altrincham Pink campaign take place, and what a week it was, raising a colossal £13,369.84 for Prevent Breast Cancer .

The businesses, schools and nurseries of Altrincham once again rallied together and really got into the spirit of all things pink…and WE CAN’T THANK THEM ENOUGH! From pink pub crawls to pink smoothies, to pink cakes and fashion shows, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

One company that threw themselves full throttle into the campaign were Contact Systems, and we’re delighted that Sarah Donovan from Contact Systems has been able to give us an insight into why she and the company got involved.

Paint Altrincham Pink Contact Systems

Sarah, can you please tell us a little bit about yourself?

I work for Contact Systems, a telecommunications company based in Altrincham. I love to cook and bake, so I set up a cake stall in our offices back in March as part of the Paint Altrincham Pink campaign.

Can you explain how you got involved with Prevent Breast Cancer?

My family have been involved with PBC for many years – my parents joined the team who cycled from London to Paris in 2016, and also Salzburg to Vienna in 2018. When it came to picking a charity for Contact Systems to support, PBC was the natural choice. My Dad is one of our directors and after his many bike rides with the charity, he’s not averse to donning a bright pink tutu for a good cause!

What appealed to you about joining our Paint Altrincham Pink 2020 Campaign?

When we heard about Paint Altrincham Pink we knew straight away that we wanted to get involved. We’ve been at our offices in Broadheath for around 3 years and have never really got to know our neighbours. It was a great networking opportunity, and a good excuse to eat cake and chat over a cup of tea (or a glass of pink prosecco!). All the while making money for a cause very close to our hearts.

Your business raised vital funds for Prevent Breast Cancer, what makes you so passionate about our charity?

Prevent Breast Cancer stands out to us as a charity with a unique and inspiring approach – funding research into prevention so that future generations are better protected. We also love the way that the charity helps our community to come together, have fun and raise money for a cause that affects so many of us.

Do you think anyone can fundraise for Prevent Breast Cancer? What would you say to anyone thinking of supporting the charity in this way?

Absolutely – anyone and everyone can help to fundraise for PBC. If you’re thinking of supporting the charity, remember to be loud about it! Get people’s attention with some pink balloons and bunting (the team will help you out with this). And if you’re short of ideas, remember that people will always love a good piece of cake.

Next year’s campaign is planned for 8th-14th March, and we’re hoping the week will be bigger than ever! Make sure to keep an eye on our social media and our website for updates. In the meantime, here’s a link to a video of previous Paint Pink fun!
