PAINT RAINFORD PINK 2016 & 2017

Wendy Downey of Wendy’s Florists in Rainford once again organised the fabulous Paint Rainford Pink in 2017. Wendy heard about our Paint Pink campaign through a friend, and wanted to support the charity by organising her own events in her home village, and by getting all her friends and fellow business owners involved too. The seed had been sowed for Paint Rainford Pink 2016!

2016 started off with some fabulous fundraising, including the selling of some delicious cakes, but the campaign really exploded in 2017, creating a wonderful community spirit.

2017 kicked off on Saturday 14th October, and the fun activities and fundraising carried on until the next Saturday, and so there was a whole week of raising funds for Prevent Breast Cancer.

A Pink Tea Party at the Scout Hut launched the week, and many of the shop windows within the village sported bright pink displays. There was also the most amazing scarecrow competition, and we couldn’t get over the fabulous displays of creativity throughout the town.

Nikki, the Director of Prevent Breast Cancer, had this to say:

“Since its inception three years ago, Paint Towns Pink has taken on a life of its own and communities have really taken it to their hearts and made it a key date in their calendars.

“It’s fantastic to see so many businesses in Rainford getting involved and wanting to make a difference – we’d like to say a huge thank you to all those signed up and here’s to topping last year’s fundraising total!”
