A big welcome to Chorlton!
Taking place on a very blustery October in 2017, the Prevent Breast Cancer Paint Your Town Pink campaign arrived in Chorlton.
Rebecca and Jemma who work at the RBS Bank in Chorlton had previously heard about the campaign after it took place in Cheadle Hulme and they decided they wanted to then Paint Chorlton Pink.
So after forming their own networking group, and filling in the businesses of Chorlton about the campaign, they decided that Saturday 21st October was going to be their launch date.
So many wonderful shops and restaurants got involved, and they had all sorts of activities happening on the day; from the sale of pink beetroot smoothies and raffles, to pink hair dos and pink cakes.
The charity also had a stall at the Artisan Market on the day, but unfortunately Storm Brian reared his ugly head, and it was a constant battle to keep the stall and the merchandise in one piece! In the end, all the market stall holders abandoned their posts to seek shelter from the torrential rain and blustery winds.
Even though the day was really affected by the weather, we’re delighted that the day raised just over £2500, which is wonderful! The ladies from RBS have also not been put off, and hope to repeat Paint Chorlton Pink again, but to make it even bigger! Let’s just hope there’s no storm forecast for the next one!
