Nurseries, Schools, Colleges & Universities
Getting out into our community is an important way for us to raise both awareness and funds for Prevent Breast Cancer. Below you can the many ways we work with Nurseries, Schools, Colleges & Universities.

Start the conversation early and help change lives.
At Prevent Breast Cancer, we see first-hand the difference early education can make.
When young people understand breast awareness, know their bodies, and feel confident talking about their health, it can have a lifelong impact. These early conversations build habits, confidence, and awareness that truly matter.
And when that awareness turns into action through fundraising, your students become part of something bigger, helping us move closer to preventing breast cancer for future generations.
Primary Schools & Nurseries

It’s never too early to bring communities together.
Our Paint Your Nursery/Primary School Pink initiative is all about fun, creativity, and introducing the idea of helping others in a way children and families can enjoy together.
From pink fun days to cake sales and summer fairs, your nursery and school community can:
- Come together in a meaningful way
- Support an important cause
- Wear your best outfit in pink
We’ll support you with ideas, and resources to celebrate your efforts.
And for many families, this is where their journey with us begins.
Secondary Schools & Colleges
These are the years where conversations really start to matter.
By opening discussions around breast awareness, risk factors, and body confidence, you’re giving students knowledge they’ll carry for life, and encouraging habits that could one day save them or someone they love.

PSHE Lessons (KS4 & KS5)
PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic) lessons help students build the knowledge and confidence they need to stay healthy, safe and informed. Our breast awareness lessons are designed to give students clear, age-appropriate information about their bodies, including how to recognise changes and understand the importance of early detection.
We offer three engaging PSHE lessons that cover:
- Breast awareness and why it matters
- How to check yourself
- Understanding risk factors
These sessions are honest, empowering, and designed to build confidence in young people to talk about their health.

Fundraising Opportunities
Once students are inspired, fundraising becomes a natural next step.
Through our Student Challenge, they can:
- Plan and deliver their own events
- Build teamwork and leadership skills
- Gain experience that supports future careers
Students develop key skills such as leadership, financial planning, event management and teamwork. Our team is always on hand to support you, offering fundraising ideas and helpful guidance whenever needed.

Universities

University students have the creativity, independence, and drive to make a huge impact.
By this stage, awareness becomes action, and fundraising becomes powerful.
We’re looking for students and groups to become the face of Prevent Breast Cancer on campus, organising events, raising awareness, and driving change. Whether it’s a:
- Fashion show
- Sports event
- Festival
- Or a “Paint Your Town Pink” campaign
You’ll be helping fund vital research and prevention work, while gaining invaluable real-world experience.
Book a talk with our amazing team
Our team can visit your school or college to deliver engaging, informative sessions that bring this important topic to life.
We don’t just talk at students, we create open, honest conversations that help build confidence and understanding around breast health. During our sessions, we cover:
- How to check yourself and why it matters
- Key risk factors associated with breast cancer
- The importance of early detection
We connect real-life impact with the science behind prevention, helping students understand not just what to do, but why it matters.
Importantly, this information isn’t just valuable for students. Teachers and staff also benefit from these sessions, gaining knowledge and confidence to continue these conversations long after our visit. Our talks are designed to be:
- Age-appropriate and engaging
- Empowering and confidence-building
- Informative without being overwhelming
They’re often the starting point, sparking interest, raising awareness, and inspiring students to take the next step into fundraising.
We can also support your school or college beyond the talk, helping you turn that inspiration into meaningful fundraising that makes a real difference.
