How Sale Grammar School students turned inspiration into action
In 2024, students from Sale Grammar School attended the Prevent Breast Cancer Student Conference and their experience sparked a wave of creativity, teamwork, and fundraising.
Inspired by what they learned at The Nightingale Centre, the students launched a series of impressive initiatives to support the charity. Their efforts included:
- A festive Christmas market, where students designed and sold products.
A Dragon’s Den-style competition.
A talent show and Battle of the Bands concert.
Awareness assemblies delivered to each year group.
Custom marketing materials created to educate and engage their peers.
These activities not only raised funds but also helped spread awareness to their family and friends about breast cancer prevention and the charity’s mission.
It was amazing for the students to meet the charity CEO and leaders of Prevent Breast Cancer, plus also see radiologists, doctors and nurses in action. They were all very kind to our students. Thank you for taking the time to talk about your own employment experiences also, and how you both eventually ended up working for such an amazing charity. It was very inspirational and rewarding for the students and me.
