CAMINO DE SANTIAGO 100KM TREK

Camino de Santiago Prevent Breast Cancer Charity UK

Join Prevent Breast Cancer as we take on the last 100km of the iconic Camino de Santiago trail.

We will begin the ancient pilgrim’s route on the coast, at Vigo, and wind our way through the historic Spanish countryside of the Galicia region, towards the UNESCO World Heritage city of Santiago de Compostela.

This is a perfect opportunity for those who are new to charity treks as well as more seasoned walkers. This route follows a mix of flat and undulating countryside and is designed for all range of trekking abilities.

The route will be unguided to give you the flexibility to go at your own pace and appreciate your surroundings in your own time. We will have a Trip Rep who will be on hand for 24/7 support during the walk.

Join Prevent Breast Cancer this year and fundraise towards ground-breaking research to help us predict and prevent breast cancer for future generations.

COST

There are two ways in which the cost of this trip can be covered. You can either decide to fundraise your trip through sponsorship or self-fund your trip.

With both options we’d like you to raise as much as you can to contribute funds to the incredible research done by Prevent Breast Cancer. Although this trip will be a momentous 7 days for all involved it must also be remembered that its purpose is to raise vital funds.

SELF FUNDING

The cost of the trip is £700 (without flights and including £150 deposit). The payment to Prevent Breast Cancer will be in 2 instalments as follows:

  • £150 non-refundable deposit payable immediately to Prevent Breast Cancer to secure your booking
  • £550 payable at your earliest convenience to Prevent Breast Cancer at least 8 weeks before departure
  • We ask you to fundraise a minimum of £800 to be raised by the event date.

FUNDRAISING / SPONSORSHIP

For those fundraising, the trip total (without flights) is £1,500 (including a deposit of £150). This is broken down as follows:

  • £150 non-refundable deposit payable immediately to Prevent Breast Cancer to secure your booking
  • To have raised £550 8 weeks prior to the event – we will be invoiced by Walk the Camino.
  • To have raised a minimum of £800 by event date.

FLIGHTS

  • Please note that flights are not included in the above cost. We don’t arrange flights for this challenge, enabling you to take advantage of the competitive fares. As well as giving your trip flexibility, if you would like more time in Santiago.
  • The most direct route to Santiago de Compostela is from London. Please book your flights as soon as possible after signing up. We would ideally like everyone to be arriving in Santiago at similar times to allow everyone on the single transfer to Vigo. Feel free to consult me before you book your flights and I can give you advice on the best options.
  • Returning is more flexible. You may choose to stay longer in the beautiful city of Santiago. We will provide a single airport transfer on 11th October at the most popular time. Our hotel is a 20-minute drive from the airport.

So, what are the next steps? Set up an online fundraising page through JustGiving. You must follow this link to make sure your giving page is connected to the event homepage: https://justgiving.com/campaign/CaminodeSantiago2020
