PPI – Public involvement in research
Here at Prevent Breast Cancer we are committed to funding high quality research that has a real impact on preventing breast cancer. As part of the research process, our research teams involve members of the public every step of the way, from initial discussions about research design and helping researchers to decide which are the most important questions, through to the management of projects.
The public involvement panel meets up to four times a year and are involved in varying research projects including; diet and lifestyle studies, psychology studies, drug prevention studies, to name a few. We are keen to involve women from all walks of life and ethnicities, including women who have had breast cancer, those who are at high risk of developing breast cancer in the future, and those who don’t know their risk.
If you would like to be involved in the public involvement panel or simply want to find out more information, please contact the panel co-ordinator (Louise Gorman) on Louise.Gorman@uhsm.nhs.uk.
